Four men were injured by gunfire Friday night in the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion Housing Community, according to the V.I. Police Department.
The 911 emergency call center received a report of gunfire at 10 p.m. Friday. Officers responding to the scene founded four wounded men, ages ages 19, 20, 21 and 23 years old. Three of the victims were transported to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital by ambulance and the fourth was taken to hospital by a private vehicle.
The shooting victims all sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The victims told officers that they were sitting down outside within the housing community, when a small SUV drove by and began to discharge gunfire. They all ran, seeking cover from the hail of bullets.
The victims were unable to identify who may have shot at them or the type of vehicle that the assailants were riding in.
