Direct Deposit Glitch Delays V.I. Government Holiday Pay

Some V.I. government employees who get their checks by direct deposit will not get their pay before the holiday, as originally planned, according to Government House. The funds are there for the deposits, but some banks may not be set up to be able to deposit the funds in the accounts early, Government House spokeswoman Kim Jones said Wednesday. As a result, posting of the direct deposit file to a few local banks may be delayed.

According to a statement from Government House, those who need emergency access to the funds are advised that local banks will honor your Direct Deposit Advices.
