Iris Albertha Heyliger Hurley Dies

Iris Albertha Heyliger HurleyIris Albertha Heyliger Hurley died on Aug. 29.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon N. Hurley; daughter, Betty Arnold Penn; son, Eugene Arnold Jr.; grandchildren: Terence and Isaac Jr. and Monique Joseph Johnson; great-grandchildren: Antonio, Febres and Ashanti Johnson; sister, Sylvia Heyliger Franklin; brother, Anselmo R. Heyliger Sr.; sisters-in-law: Estrina Andrews-Heyliger and Joyce Thomas-Heyliger; brother-in-law, Alphonso Franklin; son-in-law, John Penn; and nieces: Gertrude Samuel, Dorothy Samuel Reva Heyliger, Anna Marie Heyliger Hector, Carol Lee Heyliger, Hazel Ann Heyliger, Crystal Heyliger and Loretta Belardo; and nephews: Warren Heyliger, Blaise Franklin, Anselmo R. Heyliger Jr., Ronald Heyliger, Russell Heyliger and Stephen Belardo.
She is also survived by cousins: Clarissa Messer Petersen and family, Evelyn Messer James and family, Malcolm Richards, Rudolph Aaron, Sylvia Aaron Shepard, Magdelin Aaron Robinson, Gwendolyn Lucas, George Lawrence Sr., George Lawrence Jr., Coreen Messer Milligan, Lucinda Benjamin, Ulric E. and Ruth Benjamin and family, David A. Heyliger, Eunice Heyliger, Rafaela Heyliger Albany, Evans Heyliger and family, Petronella Heyliger Holmes, Veronica Phillips, Debbie and Roy Rodgers, Roy Martin, Queca Heyliger Larsen, Alvin Milligan, Florette Milligan, Henry Milligan, Maceline Milligan, Marjorie Milligan, Germaine Milligan, Linda Gill Thomas, Vilma Gill Johnson, Chrisita Milligan as well as many other cousins/ and relatives too numerous to mention.
Other survivors include godchildren: Grandville Milligan Jr. and others too numerous to mention; special friends: Antonette Lenhardt, Marion Bartley, Chris Hebert, Shannon Herbert, Marie Allick, Betty Lynch, Sara Gordon, Ann of St. Lucia, Mary Pennyfeather and family, Ivy Beard, Irene Prentice, Earl Charles and family, Pastor Frederick and the Midland Moravian Church Members; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Divine Funeral Services Chapel. There will be a second viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Frederiksted. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
