Woman Charged with Embezzlement

Police on St. Croix executed an arrest warrant Thursday charging Tamala Walker of embezzlement and other crimes.

Officers from the Economic Crime Unit executed the warrant at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the warrant, Walker, 31, of Bethlehem Village was manager of a local fast food restaurant from 2011 to 2012 and, during that time, failed to make deposits totaling more than $79,000.

She was charged with embezzlement by employee/agent, obtaining money by false pretense, forgery and grand larceny.

Bail was set at $10,000. Walker was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
