Gunshot Wounds St. Croix Man

A man was shot and wounded by an unknown assailant late Thursday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the report, officers were dispatched at 12:01 a.m. Friday to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital to investigate the report of a shooting victim seeking treatment.

At the hospital, the victim – whose name was not released by police – said that as he was driving out of the Harvey Housing Community in Estate Profit, an unknown individual or individuals fired shots at him. Realizing that he had been shot, he drove himself to the medical facility for treatment.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau are investigating the matter.
