Armed carjackers forced a woman from a car Thursday at the Gas for Less Service Station in Sunny Isle, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police received a report of the incident at 8:36 p.m.
Responding officers met with the victim of the carjacking, who said she had parked her vehicle in the most northern portion of the service station, leaving her sister in the vehicle with the keys in the ignition, and then walked into the convenience store to make a purchase.
While inside, she heard a scream and ran out the store towards her vehicle, where she saw two men dressed in dark clothing, their faces covered, push her sister out of the vehicle and drive away.
The victim’s sister, who was unharmed during the incident, told the officers that while sitting in the vehicle waiting for her sister, she noticed a young male standing at the door of the car with a black bandana covering his face. He held a gun in his hand, she said.
The armed man placed the gun to her head and demanded that she get out of the vehicle. The second male, wearing dark pants a white T-shirt and with a dark T-shirt covering his face, sat in the driver’s seat, she said.
The victims were unable to provide police with any other description of the suspects, as they drove off in the victim’s gold colored, Honda Acura, license plate number CDF-002.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau are investigating the matter.
