Dear Source:
Did you know that light travels 5.88 trillion miles each year? I think we here in the VI, have not made it that far last year. Our progress is at a standstill right now. I was thinking of writing about how hard we have it, then the sun shone on one of our beautiful hill tops and a big red tail hawk rose up and called to his mate. I thought ‘wait’, life is good!
Dear Reader instead let me give you some of the little thoughts that I write down in my journal from time to time. They are not in any particular order and you may read into them what you wish. It is likely they will mean different things to different people.
All Things Considered:
1-Temptation-the way to be rid of it-is to give in to it. This thinking is hurting us.
2-Let today be ignored-I’m dealing with the day after tomorrow.
3-Lives are a ball of twine-pull on a thread and the whole thing may unravel.
4-Good thinking-now it is only advice-soon it will be history.
5-Whenever it is gone -is when you miss it most.
6-A classic mistake-‘don’t like the man -therefore don’t like his ideas.
7-Do it right and you will get to live out your life with your reputation intact.
8-A good leader must be interested in the future -for it is interested in him.
9-A thinking man’s view-good things are easily destroyed-but difficult to create.
10-States exist to serve their citizens -not the other way around.
11-Seeking in Politics -what should be left to religion.
12-Binding referendum -the peoples check on government.
13-Reform will only come from below.
14-Fear is the condom of life-it prevents you from enjoying many things.
15-Humans are the source of virtue -not the Gods.
16-A body made to ruin men -this is the problem with female beauty.
17-please add your own ‘truths’ -my list, I could go on and on
Thank you for your patience with my stuff, these thoughts or ‘sayings’ do not represent any single approach to life but offer an opportunity to put into perspective some of our daily lives. We all wish to live happy lives and realize outside forces are at work on us; but the inside forces are what rule. Let us look to ourselves for many of the answers, while keeping government under our control.
