A man lying in bed was injured by gunshots early Sunday morning, the V.I. Police Department reported.
At about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the Juan F. Luisa Memorial Hospital emergency room called 911 to report a gunshot victim being treated. The man, whose name was not released by the police, had been transported to the facility by a private vehicle.
Detectives and officers met the victim at the hospital, to gather information on the incident.
The victim, a resident of Harbor View Apartments, told police he was lying in bed when he heard two gun shots, and felt one of them striking him in the chest. The man said he did not know who shot him.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter.
