St. Croix Man Charged with Burglary

Jeffery Nurse, 28, of Estate Strawberry, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree burglary after an incident involving his girlfriend, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, a woman entered the police’s Ann Schrader Command Center in Estate La Reine and reported that her boyfriend had broken into her home and assaulted her.

The woman, whose name was not released by police, said that her boyfriend – who doesn’t reside at her home – came to her residence to see his infant child and was denied entry into the home several times.

The boyfriend then went to the rear entrance of the home, the woman said, and pried the back door open and assaulted the victim, who later declined medical assistance.

Nurse was charged with second-degree burglary and domestic violence and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
