A traffic accident Saturday morning on Queen Mary Highway took the life of 22-year-old Makeel Felix, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the VIPD, at 3:43 a.m. the 911 emergency call center received a report of a major automobile accident on the Queen Mary Highway in the vicinity of the Virgin Islands Waste Management complex.
Officers arrived to the scene and found that a vehicle had struck a tree and broken apart in several pieces, rendering it almost unrecognizable.
The driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was found in the brush along the roadside. Once the ambulance arrived, the Emergency Medical Technicians found no signs of life.
Traffic investigators are investigating the accident.
