Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Two Suspects

After a car chase across the center of St. Croix, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Croix arrested two men Tuesday and recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The V.I. Police Department reported Thursday that detectives received notification of a sighting of the vehicle at the Department of Motor Vehicles. The detectives, along with other officers, traveled to the area and checked, but the vehicle had left the area.

The Detectives and officers then came in contact with the vehicle on the Queen Mary Highway in the vicinity of the La Reine Gas Station. A car chase ensued, heading west to Estate Carlton, where the suspects abandoned the vehicle and were subsequently apprehended.

Police identified the two arrested men as Jerome Williams, 24 of Mon Bijou, and Jaime Williams, 26 of Concordia. Both men were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, with bail set for each man at $10,000. Unable to post bail, the suspects were remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility.
