Lawrence J. "Larry" Carrozza peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Monday, March 30, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, N.Y. He was 64 years old.
Born in Troy, he is the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy Wallace Carrozza, and he was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Larry had been employed as a golf instructor at The Reef Golf Course and at the Buccaneer Resort, both on St. Croix.
For 14 years, Larry lived on St. Croix, USVI, where he worked as a USGA certified golf instructor. He loved golf, but most of all, he loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Larry was also known as somewhat of a bartending celebrity having been employed at Ciro’s in Saratoga Springs for many years as well as various other clubs and resorts both here in the U.S. as well as on St. Croix. He was known to many as "Larry Love."
He is survived by his children: Jeffrey M. (Priscilla) Carrozza Sr., Jeremy D. (Kara) Carrozza, Danielle N. (James) Durkin of Melrose, and Erica L. (Thomas) Pariseau of Schaghticoke; wife, Rita Pailley Boyce of Pittstown; grandchildren: Jeffrey Jr., Taylor, Stephen, Gavin, Jacob, Ava, Nathan, Joseph, Taylor and Tommy Jr.; great-grandchild, Sophia; brothers: Wayne M. (Anne Marie) Carrozza of Watervliet, Timothy (Claire Marie) of Grafton and the late Daniel W. Carrozza (who is survived by his wife, Patti Jade Jazwinski) of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service followed at 7 p.m.
At a later time, a family service will be held on St. Croix.
Burial will be held private at the convenience of the family at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy.
