Carmen Lydia Williams of Estate Tide Village died on March 21 at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center. She was 74 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Williams; and her son, Warren A. Williams.
She is survived by her son, Cecil A. Williams; daughters: Patricia E. Williams-Anderson, Frances E. Williams-Augustin and Enid C.M. Williams O’Garro; adopted daughters: Eugenie J. Santos, Angela Morales, Sylvia Santos-Butcher, Carmen M. Lang and Felicia Polydore; stepsons: Henry S. Williams Jr., and Gerard A. Williams Sr.; stepdaughters: Roxanne C. Williams-Miller, Roselle L. Williams, Christine A. Williams, Julieth B. and Carolyn E. Colon; and grandchildren: Warren A. Williams, Edouard Jr. and Enishoua O’Garro Jr., Gene A. II, Giovanni A. and Gelysia A. Anderson, and Diara Bates, Kerbassi Augustin, Keshia Shillingford, Akeela and Ty Moorehead.
She is also survived by her step-grandchildren: Dahlia A. Petersen-Jarratt, Danica A., and D’Sean A. Miller, Ariel A. George, Teneigh S. Denning, Brandon D. and Terrance A. Baker, Joia Shorter, Darien A. Griffin, William A. Hodge Jr., Major Lee and Mariel A. Womack, Henisha S. Williams, A’ja M. White, Jimmy J. Colon, Shervonne C. Williams-Nieves, Gerard A. Jr., Rebeccah I., Rachel I., Israel E., Imani O. (Zion N.Y.) and Zalika A. N. Williams, and Felicita, Angela, Angel and Olga Martinez; great-grandchildren: Warren A. Williams, Jamani Williams, Kimani Williams; brothers: Martin Santos Sr. and George Santos; and sister, Maria Lopez.
Other survivors include her brother-in-law, Ray C. Williams; nieces: Olga, Anitra, Santos, Felicia Griffith, Anita Bravo, Arlene Simpson, Carmen Figueroa, Ramona and Lizette Lopez and Maria Eugenia Brown; nephews: Martin Jr., Mario, Mark, Victor, Adolfo, McDonald, George Jr. Santos, Luis, Adolfo and Rolando Lopez, Douglas Jr., and Dwayne Simpson; daughter-in-law, Eugenie Williams; sons-in-law: Gene “Spanish” Anderson, Kerwyn Augustin, Edouard O’Garro Sr. and Derickson Polydore; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica M. Williams; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be tributes at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30, at Lord God of Saboath Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery, Veterans’ Section.
