Police Question Suspect in Reckless Endangerment Case

The V.I. Police Department is investigating a case in which a man is suspected of shooting at a residence in the Harborview Apartments in Christiansted.

According to the police report, a woman who lives at the apartment complex told officers that at 5:30 a.m. Friday she was awakened to sounds of someone banging loudly and repeatedly on her front door. Looking through the peephole, she said she saw a man identified as the father of her children, who began shouting at her and accusing her of having another man in the apartment.

The complainant’s friend, a woman who lives at the apartment, phoned 911 for assistance.

The women heard the sound of a vehicle driving off in a southwesterly direction and several minutes later heard a vehicle pull up to the south of the apartment. They then heard a gunshot.

The woman told police she saw the suspect drive away in a vehicle she knew belonged to one of his friends. Officers found a fragment that appeared to be a projectile in the apartment and also saw that the apartment’s rear sliding door was shattered.

Police found the suspect and questioned him. Friday evening’s news release did not report on the disposition of the case.
