Lieutenant Governor Attending Insurance Commissioners Conference

Lt. Gov. Osbert Potter will be out of the territory from Feb. 6-9 to attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) conference. The conference will host insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories. Potter serves as the territory’s commissioner of insurance.
Through the NAIC, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews and coordinate their regulatory oversight.
The NAIC conference, the first of the year, is being held in Languna, Calif.
In accordance with the Revised Organic Act, Sen. President Neville James will serve as acting lieutenant governor. Lt. Gov. Potter will return to the territory on Feb. 10.
