Pedestrian Struck by Car, Dies of Injuries

A pedestrian walking on North Side Road near the Agape Medical Center was hit by a vehicle and killed Thursday night, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received the call of about the accident on St. Croix at about 8:20 p.m.

Officers were dispatched and upon arrival at the scene, discovered a Hispanic male who appeared to be in critical condition. He was transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The VIPD news release did not identify the victim.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorist was driving from north to south on North Side Road when the pedestrian was struck.

Officers from the Traffic Investigation Bureau continued to investigate the details of the incident.
