St. Thomas-St. John District Board of Elections officials counted at least another 722 general election ballots Tuesday, plus another 193 mail-in absentee votes, and said they should be finished with everything by the end of the week.
Even with the additional ballots, nothing has really changed in the results, but board members said there are a few things they have to deal with before they can wrap it up.
A press conference on St. Thomas Wednesday will give board members a chance to fully update the public on where they are with the count, and some said Tuesday that they also hope at that time to offer their thanks to elections workers that have kept the momentum going over the past week.
Board members said they will also be flying over to St. Croix on Thursday for an emergency Joint Board of Elections meeting, and will be explaining more during the Wednesday press conference.
