Innovative Wireless service has been restored to on-island Wireless customers who are not roaming, the company announced late Friday night.
The original outage was caused by multiple DNS server failures, according to the original statement from the company announcing the outage. The outage impacted all wireless customers throughout the territory, preventing data capabilities on Innovative’s wireless network.
Customers presently roaming are still being affected by the outage, according to Innovative.
“Service has been restored to on-island Innovative Wireless customers,” Matt Muckelbauer, senior vice president and chief technical officer, said in a statement. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and we will continue to work to ensure that the problem does not reoccur.”
For cable TV or phone repairs, Innovative customers calling from landlines should dial 912. Customers using wireless phones can reach the repair center at 340-778-1742.
