Police Seek Suspect in Saturday Shooting

Police on St. Thomas were continuing to search for a suspect Sunday evening for a shooting that left one man injured Saturday near the Windward Passage Hotel.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report at 2:29 p.m. Saturday of a weapon being discharged. That call was followed closely by a second gunshot call, then a third call at 2:34 p.m. summoning an emergency medical team.

According to the V.I. Police Department, witnesses said a male victim ran into the Windward Passage hotel. He was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

A passerby said police forensic personnel appeared to have located a large number of shell casings, but no details were available from the department as of Sunday night.
