Police Pursue Investigation of Saturday Shooting

Police continue to investigate a shooting Saturday afternoon that sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound, St. Thomas/St. John Police Chief Darrin Foy said Wednesday.

The victim, whose name was not released in accord with a VIPD policy to not identify the victims of nonfatal attacks, was sitting in his car at the Pueblo market parking lot when another car pulled up alongside.

The driver of the second vehicle then fired at the victim, striking him in the shoulder.

Foy said emergency medical technicians took the victim to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released later that day.

Foy said the police are continuing to follow leads in the case and asked anyone with any information that could help identify the attacker to call police and report it.
