Couple Robbed on Santa Maria Bay Beach

A man and a woman relaxing on Santa Maria Bay beach Monday were approached by an armed suspect who threatened them and stole cash and possessions, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, the suspect told the couple to face away from him, then took the couple’s backpack containing an iPhone, a man’s wallet and various other personal identifications and papers.

No one was injured during the robbery. The couple was unable to provide police with a description of the suspect.

The case is being investigated as a first-degree robbery by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
