Minor Injured When Car, Bike Collide

A 13-year-old riding his new bicycle was injured when he collided with a pickup truck, the V.I. Police Department reported Monday.

Officers from the Traffic Investigation Unit said the accident happened on Bordeaux Road at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, a Mazda pickup was driving northward when the minor rode around the corner and ran into the right rear side of the truck.

The child fell and broke his ankle. He also had cuts and bruises on several parts of his body. He was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center and treated.

This case is still under active investigation by the Traffic Investigation Unit officers.
