PAL After-School Program Resumes in Christiansted

The Police Athletic League After-School Program, in which students can be tutored in reading and math as well as receive homework assistance from education professionals, will resume Monday in Christiansted, the V.I. Police Department announced.

The program serves children from kindergarten through eighth grade. The cost of the program is $25 per child. Adjustments can be made for families with multiple.

The youth are supervised and mentored by members of the Virgin Islands Police Department. Teachers with the V.I. Department of Education administer the tutoring and homework assistance.

For generations, the PAL programs have provided safe and supportive after-school learning activities, with students exposed to positive role models. PAL programs focus youth on their studies and engage them in positive play activities.

The PAL center in Christiansted is at 1014 Estate Richmond next to the Veterans Affairs office.

For more information, call 340-773-6393 anytime or 340-719-9067 after 3 p.m. beginning Monday. Information on the start of the Frederiksted PAL after school activities will be announced later.
