Police Investigate a Robbery and an Assault

Police are investigating a first-degree assault on St. Thomas that left a man injured by gunshots. It was one of two cases from the weekend that police are following up on, according to the V.I. Police Department.

According to police, officers responded to the Schneider Regional Medical Center on Monday and spoke to a male gunshot victim who told them he was in his car and another male individual shot him several times.

Due to his injuries, the victim was unable to give police any additional information.

On St. Croix, a man and woman were robbed about 8:45 p.m. Sunday in Estate Fredensborg, police said.

Police said the woman told officers she was near her front gate with a male acquaintance when another man walked up behind them and said, “Give me all your money." She said the suspect told her not to turn around.

The male victim told the suspect he did not have any money. The suspect fired off one shot and fled the area. No one was injured.

Police are calling the case first degree robbery.

Both cases are being followed by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
