Police Investigating Two Weekend Robberies

Police on St. Thomas are investigating two first-degree robberies that occurred over the weekend, the V.I.P.D reported.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are looking into both incidents, which took place at Hospital Ground and the Galleon Guest House.

At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday a man told police that he had been walking near the Fish Market in Hospital Ground when he noticed two men in the back of a burgundy pickup. He said the men got off the truck and walked toward him.

One of the men pointed a gun at the victim and demanded money, which the victim gave him. The two suspects ran off in a northerly direction. The victim was not harmed.

At about 11 p.m. Sunday, police were notified of a robbery at the Galleon Guest House. A woman told police she was opening the door to the guest house when a suspect came up from the rear and pointed a black gun at her, demanding her cell phone and money.

The victim said she gave the suspect the items and they fled the area. The victims could not identify the suspects. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate a suspect.
