Police Investigate Missing Man and House Fire

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Croix are investigating a case of a missing person and a fire at his residence in Estate Whim, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The missing person is 57-year-old Earl Alric Charles, who police said was reported missing by his brother Monday.

The missing man’s brother told police he last saw Earl Charles about 6 p.m. Monday driving his vehicle on the Queen Mary Highway in the vicinity of Estate Campo Rico. He said that about 11:30 p.m. he heard his brother’s truck come into the yard of the residence they share and then leave. The brother told detectives he heard an explosion and noticed that the house was on fire.

The Fire Department responded to the fire and is investigating the cause of the blaze.
