The next event on the Dolphins calendar is the Swim Around St. Croix fundraiser June 22-23. The event will start at Point Udall, and swimmers will traverse the north side of the island on Saturday, with the finish at EAT at Cane Bay. The second day will begin at Cane Bay and end with a celebration at Rhythms’ at Rainbow Beach. This event is not a race but a relay swim with one swimmer at a time in the ocean. Swimmers are raising funds to pay for much needed upgrades to their pool, which is the only 50-meter competition pool in the territory. Please come out and cheer the swimmers and support the restaurants on both days. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Dolphins Swim Team.
Any amount donated to this effort will be greatly appreciated. Presently, we are still looking for a sponsor that will match the money raised to date. For more information on this event, please visit www.swimaroundstcroix.com or call 719-7946.
For those who would like to be a part of this rewarding sport or would like more information about the program, contact the Dolphins Swim Team on St. Croix at 3719-7946, e-mail at stcroixdolphins@gmail.com., or visit Web site: www.stcroixdolphins.org. In addition to the competitive youth and masters swim teams, the St. Croix Dolphins offers a Learn to Swim Program that includes classes for infant, toddler, children and adults.
