Alfredo Jackson, also known as "Side Winder" or "Jacko," of Estate Whim died on June 5 at his residence. He was 87 years old.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Eleanor M. Jackson. He is survived by his; grandchildren: Vernon L. Turnbull, Tracey S. Edwards and Daniel A. Edwards; great-grandchild, Christian J. Turnbull; daughter-in-law, Jane Meyers; sisters: Joyce Meyers Kirkland, Mildred Jackson Petersen, Marion Jackson Christian and Ethel Jackson Naton; brothers: Leslie Meyers, Sr. and Julius Jackson Jr.; and nieces: Elouise Meyers Stephens, Gwendolyn O’Garro Meyers, Brenda, Myrtle, Beverly, Renae, Jenny, Gaynell and Christal Meyers, Joyce Sutton, Joyce Furgerson, Deloris Copeman, Isolina Harrison, Gloria Joseph, Rosetta Allen, Rosina Simmonds Sonia Meyers, Loretta Allen, Cheryl, Marlene and Maisie Petersen, and Florence Cornelius.
He is also survived by nephews: Ian Frederick, Melvin Petersen, Gregorie, Lionel, Nanton and Leslie Meyers Jr., Anthony, Gary, Deveris, Calvin, Muriel and Ernie Meyers, Ernest Meyers Jr., Ohanio Meyers Jr., and Orendo, Ernest and Raphael Allen; 35 great nieces; 27 great nephews; 15 great-great nieces; 19 great-great nephews; special godchild, Rigmor Barron; special friends: Curtis Williams, Adelbert Bryan, Mario Moorhead, Oneal Abel, Edward and Audry Fleming, David Edwards, Rita Daniel, the Mason family, Albert Harrison, Emmeth Fludd and David Benjamin; cousins and other relatives: Rita Philips, Idona, Orville Clarke, Freddie Clarke, the Barnes family, the Clocksten family, the Simmonds family, the Hendricksen family, the Powel family, the Jeffers family, the Walters family and the Warner family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Friday, June 14. Interment will be at the Frederiksted Cemetery.
