2011 Property Tax Bills Become Delinquent Sunday

The Division of Real Property Tax advised Virgin Islands property owners that the 2011 property tax bills will become delinquent after Saturday.

Because the payment deadline falls on a Saturday this year, payments made by property owners on Monday, June 10, will be considered as timely, according to the release from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Accordingly, penalty and interest charges for late payment of the 2011 bills will begin on Tuesday, June 11.

All appeals regarding the 2011 tax assessments must be filed with the Board of Tax Review by June 24.

The 2011 bills and all past due years can be paid at the Tax Collector’s Offices at the following locations:
St. John: – Islandia Building
St. Thomas – Builders Emporium
Or these locations on St. Croix – Government House, 1105 King Street, Christiansted
– 1131 King Street, Suite 101, Christiansted
– Dept. of Finance, Sunny Isles, 4008 Estate Diamond
– 100 Lagoon Street Complex, Suite 5, Frederiksted

More information about the 2011 bills, can be obtained by calling the Office of the Tax Assessor on each island: 1-340-776-8505 on St. Thomas, 1-340-776-6737 on St. John, and 1-340-773-6459 Christiansted or 1-340-772-3115 Frederiksted, on St. Croix.

Questions regarding delinquencies can be addressed to the Tax Collector’s office at 1-340-776-8505 on St. Thomas, 1-340-776-6737 on St. John, 1-340-773-1105 in Christiansted or 1-340-772-0120 in Frederiksted.
