The Department of Human Services advises beneficiaries of the Energy Crisis Assistance Program (ECAP) of the following changes as of Wednesday, May 1.
• Gas assistance is limited to one cylinder for each household within a 12-month period. Additional gas cylinders will not be offered to customers who were already issued a cylinder for the year.
• The payment cap for electricity assistance is now $100 for each household bill. Human Services will pay up to $100 of the bill, and the customer is responsible for any amount greater than the cap.
