A woman who was the passenger in a car Friday was injured by at least one gunshot fired from an oncoming car in Estate Contant, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to preliminary reports, officers were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the Clear View apartments to investigate an injured person and discharging of shots. When police arrived they saw the victim, who was apparently grazed on her eyebrow and right shoulder by gunshots, and took her to the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
The victim was able to tell police that a relative was driving her car and she was in the passenger seat in Estate Contant when an oncoming car opened fire on her vehicle and sped away.
Police recovered several spent shell casings at the scene. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives for followup.
