A man sitting on his back porch in Barren Spot was robbed by an armed gunman Friday, the V.I. Police Department reported.
Police were dispatched to the area at about 10:25 p.m. Friday. Witnesses in the area said a man robbed the home’s occupant of cash and a gold chain.
Police are calling the case first-degree robbery.
According to the initial police report the suspect was armed with a black handgun, wearing a white mask covering his face and wearing red short pants. He walked onto the back porch of a home where a resident was sitting on a cooler, threatened the resident with the gun, and took the cash and a gold chain from his neck. The chain was valued at $600.
When police arrived on the scene they conducted a search for the individual but did not find him.
