Rupert A. Massiah Sr. died on Sunday, Feb. 10, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Dolorita; sons: Eustace, Daryl, Rupert Jr., Rick, Elroy,(Matson-deceased) and Daron; daughters: Cindy, Francine and Lislyn; stepson, Aiphonso Taylor; daughters-in-law: Angela, Leslie and Connie; grandchildren: Stacy Amos, Eustace Jr., Nichelle, Euseph, Aleacia, Daryl, Julian, Halle, Corinne, La Toya, La Tisha, Nicole, Joel, Odion, Desiree, Daniel, Alfredo, Odarie, Tishanne, Mahalia, Odia, Malachi, Elijah, Mahlek ,Azani, De’ Sean, Carmen, Sabina, lantha, Emanuel, Shakima and Alpha; great- grandchildren: Harper, Dylan, Amiah, Zyniah, Kernari, Kemani, Drew, Tayla, Destin, Jahsean and Ahmar; brothers: Gladstone Simon, William Jr., Rupert and Winston Massiah; sisters: Cora Dc Nully, Angela Cumberbatch, Joan Smith, Dora Harris, Bernadine Joseph, Louise Moore, Mary White, Jean Dixon, Charlene Phillip Carmen and Dathne Massiah.
He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Sullivan Seraphin and Ernest Cumberbatch; sisters-in-law: Ethieen Byers, Sister Patricia Marie (FIlM) and Niorni Joseph; nieces: Madonna, Alextine, Cheryl, Roxanne, Danielle, Chantel, Tania, Elizabeth, Coretha, Jenez, Peech, Joyce, Phobe, Dahlia, Suzette, June, Charlene and Christinita; and nephews: Felix, Yves, Ricky, Michael, Gladstone Jr., Deon, Devon, Vuranie, Frankie, Dalayan, Avery, Brit, Aenis Jr., Shawn, Shane, Wayne, Niax, Daniion Algee and Jemai; friends: Pat Rogers, Lelia Felix, Arthur George, Joseph Combie, Rita Hendrickson and family, Yvonne (Oma) Ramcharitar and family; the family of Evelyn Chesterfield, Magdalena Santos, Jesus Montanez Jr., Junie’s Bar & Restaurant; special friends: the Hendrickson, Christian and James family, Hubert Frederick Sr. and Delegate to Congress Donna M. A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
