Officer Georges Commemorated at National Memorial

The National Law Enforcement Memorial has confirmed that the late Virgin Islands Police Officer Colvin Georges’ name will be added to the national memorial wall on Monday, May 13, as part of National Police Week, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Office of the V.I. Congressional Delegate Donna M. Christensen. Georges died in the line of duty last year on St. Thomas.
“I am pleased that Officer Georges’ bravery and courage will be memorialized along with those from across the nation who gave their lives for the peace and safety of their communities,” she said. National Police Week 2013 will be celebrated from May 12-18.
Christensen thanked Vanessa Bellot and the Georges family for their diligence in ensuring that Officer Georges would be a part of this national honor.
