Man Injured by Machete Attack

A man was injured on his face and hand Saturday in Estate Hogensborg when another man struck him several times with a machete, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The 44-year-old victim told police he was at the Covet Service Station shortly after 4 p.m. when a man armed with a machete approached him and began striking him. The victim managed to get away and was treated for cuts to his face, left hand and left index finger at the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau are following up the investigation.
