Bees Close Coral Bay School

Swarming bees closed the Guy Benjamin School in Coral Bay at noon Thursday and Principal Brenda Dalmida urged parents to check with news outlets Friday morning to determine if school will reopen.

The bees started swarming Wednesday from two hives located in a tree over the playground, Dalmida said.

She said one child and one staff member were stung.

Dalmida said bee keepers were called in to remove the hive.
