Doris L. Williams-Joseph Dies at 76

Doris L. Williams-Joseph, also known as "Miss Dee” or “Pea Soup Lady," of Estate Whim died on Jan. 6 at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. She was 76 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve "Yvette" Jude; sons: Aubrey Meyers, Alfred Williams and Honorable Kenneth "Kenny" Gittens; grandchildren: Shenique Bruce (NY), Neal Stevens III (NY), Jushawn Stevens (NY), Amostapha Stevens (NY), Abijah Maxwell (NY), Adulah Meyers (Fla.) and Shonneth Gittens; great-grandchildren: Ja’ Neal, Queshawn, Neala, Zoe, Tristen and Jaelynn Stevens (NY), Malachi Cotmah (NY) and Kaiden Maxwell (NY); daughter-in-law, Alice Joseph; sisters: Doreen Freeman-William (St. Thomas), Millicent Angiuli (NY), Esmie Richardson-Dennis (NY) and Orilda Herbert (St. Thomas); brother, Vancito Jennings (St. Thomas); nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention.
She is also survived by special friends: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schuster, Rita Schuster and family, Margarita Smith, Eunice Heyliger, Joyce Heyliger and Hermione Somerszaul; cousins and other relatives: Antonio and Corrine Messer, Helen Armstrong-Schjang and family, Sheila Gotha (Md.), Dean and David Weeks (Md.), the Williams, Freeman, Turnbull, Hodge, Farrington, Gittens, Armstrong, George, Johnson and Chastanet families, Keithly Ceasar (St. Thomas), Tennyson Joseph, Christian "Olie" Christensen and James Parris; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Interment will follow at the Frederiksted Cemetery.
