Clarendon D. Smith Dies

Clarendon D. Smith, also known as “Smithy,” died on Dec. 4 in Marietta, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey T. Smith; sons: Kareem, Kassim and Kevin Smith; adopted sons: Presley Simon and Derrick Bryan; stepchildren: Alvin Gomez Jr. and Abigail Gomez Taylor; brothers: Raymond and Sheridan Smith, Conrad, Burnett, Merritt, Kennedy and Stanley Hodge; adopted brother, Bernard (Bunny) Creque; sister Shirley Hodge-Ryan; adopted sisters: Marcia Hodge, Eglanteen Vanterpool and Velma Noel Drew; grandchildren: K’shawn, Jassim, Kaleem and Kevisha Smith, Shivon and Shana Simon; very special granddaughter, Simone Gomez; step grandchildren: Chandra, Chayanne and Chaz Gomez, Ashley, Alyssa, Donald Jr. Taylor and Mekil Bryan; very special and loving great grandchildren: S’moi, Tre’Vante and Kel.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Orville, Alvery, Casey, Juta and Sherman; Elvis, Jermaine, Sheriton and Shevern, Alvin, Londrade, Mondrade, Trevin, Kirwin, T’wanna, Levon, Lindon, Mickyle, Karis, Cardisha, Natasha, Jeanliz, Ken, Kenley, Kendon, Shemara, Shervern, Shenna, Shelly, Robelto, Alberto, Ricky, Angie, Angelio, Bernard Jr., Brad, Brock, Bronica, Laron, Darrell, Alonte, Jilyssa, Leon, Lorenz, Kelvin and Trevion; great nieces and nephews: Emani, John Daniel, Shamoy, Shacoy, Shaquan, Leandra, Kyla, D.J. Dylon, Yllyse, Jahkirby and Jalea; uncle, Benjamin Smith; daughter-in-laws: Janelle Richards-Smith and Claire Simon; brothers-in-law: Ken E. Ryan and Alston King; sisters- in-law: Averil and Joycelyn Smith, Harriet, Rose and Maxine Hodge, Bernice and Merle King; special cousins: Brenda Murray and Romeo Duzant; special friends: James Bryan, Venetta Clarke, Aldric Smith, Floria Warner, Campbell Rey, Nahim, Walter and Denise Richards, Deitor and Juleen Speaks, Jasmaine Malone, Ambrose and Ruth Stewart; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Kingdom Life International Christian Center. Interment will be in Anguilla Sandy Hill Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
