Joseph I. Smith Dies

Joseph I. Smith, better known as "Buckey” and “Buckey Tool," died on Dec. 16.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian Smith; daughters: Tiffany Smith and Valencia Smith; granddaughters: Tianna Lambert and Quiannah Adams; grandsons: Tafari McFarlane and Negus Ramsey; brother, Alvin Smith; sisters: Marva Smith-Ramirez, Marcia Smith-Nickeo and Lillian Smith; favorite niece, Laurel Parker; great nieces: Khn’ylah Williams, Chimisha Cherry, Asheema, Ameiya, Jai-ra, Niquana and Adejah Davis; nieces: Barbara Davis- Stephens, Jamisha Smith and Tamika Nickeo; favorite nephew, Akeem Davis; nephews: Michael Davis Sr., Alvin Smith Jr. and Josiah Smith; great nephews: Michael Davis Jr., ,Akeem Davis Jr., Seejah, Abyjah Stephens, Jahmari and Nikai Davis, Jahmari Simmonds and Jahnoy Warner; uncle, George Amey; aunt, Idalia Forbes; special friend, Ana Steal; cousins: Sharon, Lionel, Myron Uriel, Cheril ,Amey, Sonny, Arlene, Ruben Forbes, Carlton Foy and Antonio Foy, and others too numerous to mention.
He is also survived by close friends and family: Ina Sylvester and family, Patricia Parsons (Tricia) and family, Joseph Lambert and family, Prentice, Joseph Abraham and family, Andrew Malone and family, Boopsie Sasso, Rudolph Harley, Quacey Thomas, Maggie Thomas and family, the Peterson family, the Swift family, Rose Celestine, Chaliish Henry, Belrice Hodge, Linda Bishop, Sam, St. Clair, Edris, Claudette Potter and family, Aunty Adina Thomas and family, Karen Donovan and son, Joan, Marilyn, Carlton, Liston Foy and family, Joane Lambert; and many others too numerous to mention.
The first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Wesley Methodist Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
