The Central High Caribs knocked off the Educational Complex Barracudas, 3-2, on Friday at the D.C. Canegata ballpark to even their 2012-13 record at 1-1.
It was the Caribs with three runs of four hits and one error, while the Barras finished with two runs on five hits and one error. Sergio Santiago went the distance to pick up the win on the hill for the Caribs, and Stephan Walwyn took the loss.
Top batters for the Cribs were Conroy Samuel (2 for 3 with one RBI) and Romani Hansen (1 for 3). For the Barras, Jelan Weeks was 2 for 3 with one RBI, Jahkiel John was 1 for 2, and Raymond Sankitts was 1 for 3.
The Interscholastic Athletic Association high school varsity baseball interisland league consists of four teams from across the territory: the Educational Complex Barracudas and the Central High Caribs from St. Croix; and Charlotte Amalie High School Chicken Hawks and Ivanna Eudora Kean Devil Rays from St. Thomas.
Games are played on Mondays and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays will be set aside for makeup games if necessary.
