Group Robbed While Playing Dominoes

Three people playing dominoes had their game rudely interrupted Monday night when they were robbed at gunpoint, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police on St. Thomas are investigating the first-degree robbery that occurred outside the Embers Guest House in Estate Contant about 8:45 p.m. Monday. Witnesses said an armed masked man threatened and robbed three people.

The three victims told police they were playing dominoes when a man approached and pointed a black handgun at them. The suspect demanded money, snatched a gold chain off the female victim’s neck and took her cell phone. He took $50 cash from a male victim. The third victim was threatened, however, did not have any money on him.

The suspect then fled the area through a nearby shortcut.

The suspect was described as having a slim build, standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and wearing a black shirt, blue jeans with a black mask over his face.

Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau are following up on this case. Police are urging anyone who has any information to call detectives at 715-5522 or 715- 5516, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1- 800-222-TIPS.
