Renovation has begun on the Rudy Krieger Recreation Complex, situated in Estate Sion Farm.
According to Sports, Parks and Recreation Commissioner St. Claire N. Williams in an announcement Tuesday, the first phase of the project includes renovation of the public restroom and concession areas, plumbing and electrical work, roof replacement and stadium repairs.
The commissioner said the work is being paid for with funds awarded through the Department of Interior Land and Water Conservation Fund State and Local Assistance Grant Program, from which $150,000 has been authorized for this project.
Williams said, “This phase will complement the landscaping work that has been done in the area with the cooperation of the adjacent land owners, who gave permission to have the surrounding shrubby cleared and which continues to be maintained by the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation.”
