A packed auditorium showed up Tuesday night at St. Croix Educational Complex High School expecting to hear the words of the 79-year-old head of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan.
After nearly an hour inside listening to other speakers, what guests next heard was that Farrakhan wouldn’t be speaking after all.
“He (Farrakhan) had a mild temperature and we thought, being that we’ve got a lot of places to go in the Caribbean, that he would not come tonight and get rid of that temperature,” said Farrakhan’s international representative Akbar Muhammad.
Muhammad then proceeded to give a brief biography on Farrakhan and concluded his remarks asking those in attendance to pray for him.
Muhammad said Farrakhan still had plans for Wednesday to speak at the Golden Grove Correctional Facility.
