Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers recognizes that crime is a problem in the territory, and unless we citizens do our part, we fear it is going to get worse. If you know something, say something. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to identify and arrest these criminals.

St. Croix: The V.I. Police Department requests your assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a series of burglaries and robberies throughout the island. Tell us what you know, including the names of the people buying the stolen property, so law enforcement can put a stop to these crimes.

St. John: On Nov. 26 at 7 a.m., an employee of KIWI Construction arrived at a job site in Peter Bay and discovered that an orange steel bender valued at $45,000 had been stolen sometime over the weekend.

St. Thomas: On Nov. 28, a man in the area of Wimmelskafts Gade was stabbed in the lower back by another male who attempted to rob him. When the wounded man was running from his attacker, he noticed that three other individuals were involved.

The minimum cash reward for the arrest of an armed robber is $900. For a burglar it is $714. In both cases Crime Stoppers pays 10 percent of the retail value of property recovered. Our maximum reward is $2,500.

Be part of the solution. Continue to help make our community become a safer place to live by submitting information on these or any other crimes at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by texting “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a reward to be paid according to your instructions.

Crime Stoppers USVI is run entirely by volunteers and is financed by membership dues and sponsor contributions. To join us in the fight against crime, please visit our website and become a dues-paying member.

If you have an unsolved crime you would like Crime Stoppers to feature, send an e-mail to CrimeStoppersVI@gmail.com.
