Police Investigate Stabbing Death

Virgin Islands Police detectives are investigating a stabbing death that occurred Monday night when a 19-year-old suspect allegedly attempted to steal a car, got into a fight with the owner, and was stabbed to death.

The man told police that at about 8:45 p.m. Monday on Brookman Road, he was getting out of his car when another man, later identified as 19-year-old Aldon Ashley, approached him and said, “I am going with this Jeep.”

According to the report, Ashley allegedly put his hand in his pocket and threatened to “blast” the car’s owner. The two began fighting.

The owner of the Jeep told police he pulled out a knife and began to stab Ashley, who released him and collapsed after running across the street.

The owner of the Jeep was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment. The case remains under investigation.
