Activities Scheduled in Observance of American Education Week

Schools in the territory are continuing their observance of American Education Week (AEW) throughout November with activities geared towards bringing parents and other community members out to the schools.
The following are highlights planned in territory schools for the rest of the month:
Thursday, November 15
Community leaders and business persons will be heading to Pearl B. Larsen Elementary School classrooms to make presentations in their areas of expertise between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Model 6th graders will act as guides to the honorable guests.
Officers of VIPD will conduct an Eddie Eagle presentation at Pearl B. Larsen Elementary School beginning at 9 a.m. in the kindergarten, and 1st and 3rd grade classrooms. Eddie Eagle is a national program to teach gun safety awareness to children.
Alfredo Andrews Elementary School Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) meeting scheduled at 5:30 p.m.
Alfredo Andrews Elementary School students and staff will be bringing canned goods to the school in support of the Frederiksted Lion’s Club Thanksgiving Canned Goods Food Drive.
Report cards will be distributed at the Ricardo Richards Elementary School to parents and guardians from 12:30-3 p.m.
Friday, November 16
Claude O. Markoe Elementary School Open House will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Parents are invited to tour classrooms, view online programs, collect report cards, eat lunch with students, and conference with faculty and staff.
Ricardo Richards Elementary School Book and Character Parade is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, November 20
Alfredo Andrews Elementary School report card distribution will be held during an open house.
Carver Farrow, principal of the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School, announces that the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) will meet at 5:45 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. Election of PTA officers will be held. First marking period report cards will be distributed to parents. For further information, call Mr. Farrow at 775-4987 or 775-4222.
Wednesday, November 21
Pearl B. Larsen Elementary school open house and report card distribution will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Ricardo Richards Elementary School Turkey Dance will be held from 3-6 6 p.m. at the school.
Wednesday, November 28
Pearl B. Larsen Elementary School Parent-Teachers Association
(PTA) will meet at 5:30 p.m.
