UVI Holds Computing Olympiads Day

The University of the Virgin Islands and the Ana G. Mendez University System (Puerto Rico) are planning a "Computing Olympiads Day" event from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, at the UVI St. Thomas Sport and Fitness Center, Room 222.
During this event students will learn about careers in computing and information technology as well as summer research opportunities for STEM majors. In addition, students will be able to participate at a computing Olympiads competition. The winners will receive certificates and medals. The event is part of a broader effort to increase participation in computing in the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands, and it is sponsored by the National Science Foundation Broadening Participation in Computing program.
