DOL Hosts Business Services Educational Breakfast Seminar

The Department of Labor will continue its quarterly employer educational breakfast series touching on topics that every employer should be aware of. This month’s topic “Hiring Incentives, Tax Credits” will cover information about Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC), H-2B Labor Certification and the Federal Bonding Program, according to a press release issued Monday by the V.I. Department of Labor.
“These programs and hiring incentives inform employers how to qualify for federal income tax credits when hiring from targeted groups, provide updates on rules, regulations and procedures for certifying temporary foreign workers, and an introduction to fidelity insurance options for employer who hire high risk applicants,” Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. said.
Human resources professionals, business owners and managers, attorneys and other employers who are interested in learning more about how to qualify for tax and other hiring incentives offered by the U.S. Department of Labor are encouraged to attend.
The sessions will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Windward Passage Hotel, St. Thomas and on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Buccaneer, St. Croix. Both sessions will be held from 8-11 a.m. and are free.
For more information or to register for this seminar, contact Jacqueline Blyden at 776-3700 ext. 2055.
