Norma Maria Velasquez Dies at 52

Norma Maria Velasquez

Norma Maria Velasquez, also known as “Nadia,” of 7A Little Hospital Street, Christiansted, died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at The Washington Homes & Community Hospices in Washington, DC. She was 52 years old.
She is survived by her son, Jason Bosmann; father, Domingo Velasquez; brothers: Rafael (Pancho) Gonzalez Sr., Andrew Williams, James Chiverton, Wilfred Lee Ling Jr., Anthony Lee Ling, Edwin Velasquez and Hector Velasquez; sisters: Janice Chiverton, Tricia Lee Ling, Elsie Velasquez; uncles: Rooney Williams, Roy Williams Sr., Rudy Williams, Carmello Velasquez, Isabello Velasquez and Felicidad Velasquez; aunts: Velma Holmes, Alice Moody, Donna Valery, Isabelle Velasquez and Angelita Velasquez; nephews: Rafael Gonzalez Jr., Ronaldo Gonzalez, Rolando Gonzalez, Zion Williams, Afayah Williams, James Chiverton Jr., J’Quel Chiverton, Rollin and Renaldo George, and Jerell Henderson; nieces: Tiara Chiverton, Leilani Williams, Alelia Williams and Alyssa Lee Ling; great nephews: Jayden Gonzalez, Rollin and Ryan George; and great niece, Aarianna Rivers-Gonzalez.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Annette Gonzalez, Rebecca Williams, Desiree Chiverton and Melissa Lee Ling; cousins: Denise, Doreen, Rhonda and Perpetuel Williams, Natasha and Anissa Moody, Roy Williams Jr., Almeric Hendricks, Aimery Proctor, Anthony, Trevor and Khalim Valery, Beatrice Pemberton, Janice Tutein, Ethany Samuel, Esalie Charles, Arlene Lucas, Idalia Payne, Lorna Allick, Idona Bryon, Wilfred Jr., Melvin and Myron Allick, James Sr., and Roy Pemberton Sr., Norma Llanos, Eleanor and Dorette Pemberton, Ethel Hennemann, Violet DeLagarde, Reuben Irwin, Denise Ellis, Ivy, Dorsey, Olaf Jr., Samuel, Lawrence, Kai and Owen Hennemann; special friends: Andre Titus, Ernestine Canton and Dinah Johnson-Wright; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A memorial service was held on Sept. 30, 2012 at Seabrook Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lanham, Maryland. Another memorial service will be held in March 2013 on St. Croix.
