Coastweeks Cleanup at Frederiksted Pier Slated for Sept. 16

Last year, nearly one million people around the world helped clean the seas and beaches during the International Coastal Cleanup. Join CRABBS Dive Club, N2 the Blue Dive Shop, VIWMA, UVI and Complex students at this year’s Pier Cleanup.
CRABBS will be participating in the Coastweeks Cleanup at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, with an underwater cleanup at the Frederiksted Pier. Please contact crabbsvi@live.com to participate.
Coastweeks International Coastal Cleanup is an annual project of The Ocean Conservancy and is hosted in the U.S.V.I. by the University of the Virgin Islands and V.I. Waste Management Authority.
For more information about Coastweeks, visit http://www.oceanconservancy.org/our-work/marine-debris/trash-free-seas-icc-2012.html. To plan your own volunteer beach cleanup, contact Marcia Taylor at UVI Marine Advisory Services at 692-4046.
